The Louvre!  We leave the hotel and head directly for the Louvre.  Once inside, we find the food court and have breakfast.  We enter the Denon wing and quickly start doing our tour, roughly following the route recommended by Rick Steves.  We see the Venus de Milo, Winged Victory, Greek and Roman art, and then head for the Renaissance part.  Of course we see the Mona Lisa, along with half the other tourists currently in Europe, but can't find our famed "Rocket Man"...it appears to have been moved.  We also see umpteen other great works of art, too numerous to mention.

Back to the food court, where we eat lunch, each getting whatever appeals to them.  After lunch, we split, with the girls doing some shopping in the underground galleria and Bill and I hitting the Flemish, German, and later French paintings.  We meet back up again in the room with the crown jewels of France.  For some reason, museum sightseeing is as hard on the legs as a marathon, so we decide not to plan anymore sightseeing for the rest of the day.

Mandy and Lauren go back to the hotel, and Bill and I wander around La Defense for a while, and discover a big shopping mall among other things.  We rendevous back at the hotel, where we find that Mandy is not feeling all that great, and would rather get some rest while we dine out.  Tonight, we find a place in the Left Bank, eat upstairs, and have a great meal, with mussels!  A great, but tiring, day.
