No pictures for this day.  Lauren and I arrived in Twin Lakes, WI, to join up with my sister's family after driving from Ithaca, NY, where Lauren goes to school (Cornell).  We pulled in on Wednesday, debated over a pizza dinner, then got a good night's sleep.

Thursday found us all finishing packing.  We all had the backpack-type luggage, ideal for getting from place to place once in Europe, the only disadvantage being the turtle effect, having a large pack on your back and constantly bumping into people when turning around.

Judy drove us to the airport (O'Hare), and we got there in plenty of time.  Good thing, as we made a false start on the tram, arriving at the International Terminal only to find that American's international flights depart from their normal terminal, so we made an about-face and headed back.  We briefly got split up, but finally got checked in, said our goodbyes, and waited for the flight.

It was an uneventful flight, featuring "Calendar Girls" and "Chocolate" as the movies.  Seems every flight to Europe features "Chocolate".  The trip actually seemed to go fast, probably because my last international trip was to Australia, a bit further than Paris.  Soon the plane's intererior was brightening with Thursday's morning sun, breakfast was served, and we landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
